Donivan Howard is an award-winning illustrator and visual artist. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration from ArtCenter College of Design in California and the highly recognized Master of Fine Art degree from California State University Fullerton.

The Illustration Showcase (Lürzer’s Archive) named Donivan as one of the International 200 World Best Artists and Illustrators, a notable achievement of his career. His work encompasses entertainment art, illustration, and fine art, and has been shown in galleries and museums across the country. His work appears in Disney films such as Treasure Planet, The Emperor’s New Groove, and Fantasia 2000. He is skilled in art directing equitable and diverse creations as founding creator of Navinod Creations LLC. He has acquired a client list from studios such as Rhythm and Hues, Hyperion Animation, Terrific Game Studios, and BRC Theme Park Designs.

His brand of teaching has led him and his studio to teach at the premier Cypress College where he has developed the “Equity Alliance in Illustrative Art” lecture series, and “Ricochet Career Pathway” workshops for foundation students. He serves on the committee L.E.A.D. (Leveraging Excellence and Dreams), a scholarship and emergency fund for African American students in need.

Donivan resides in Anaheim, California with his son and teaches as professor and chair of the Cypress College Art Department in the visual and performing arts. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and the Society of Illustrators in Los Angeles. He is driven by creating and developing diversity and equity in entertainment storytelling and his love for global sketch book observation drawing and painting.
