Artistic Infusion Program

Paul Romano is an artist and designer living and working in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received a BFA from the University of the Arts in 1993 with additional studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

Paul’s first job as a professional artist was designing and developing children’s educational software, placing him at the forefront during the switch from traditional to digital art production. Continuing on this path, he became a partner in a boutique design firm specializing in packaging and product design for clients such as Mattel and RCA. With these large corporate clients, Paul honed his skills with digital art and brand design.

In the early 2000s, Paul switched gears from corporate clients to pursue his lifelong passion of working as an album artist and designer in the music industry. This was a way to truly marry his fine art background with the burgeoning world of computer art creation. Now with over 20 years of experience in this field, Paul is responsible for the branding and album art on over 300 albums, countless designs for merchandise, as well as stage sets and live video backdrops. Paul is best known for his work with Dälek, Mastodon, None More Black, The Red Chord, Trivium, We Came As Romans, and Withered, to name a few.

In addition to his commercial work, Paul is an exhibiting fine artist. A strong interest in narrative carries through all of the work he produces, whether it be for a commercial project or that which is purely personal. He has exhibited his work in galleries and museums both nationally and internationally, including The Norman Rockwell Museum, The Grammy Museum, Arch Enemy Arts, Last Rites Gallery, Thinkspace Gallery, and many others.

When not working, Paul likes to spend time with his family, watch films, go on outdoor adventures, cook, and rescue cats.
