Washington — The United States Mint reported today that only limited quantities of 2003 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins remain available as the holiday shopping season moves toward its peak. The remaining individual options – the one–half ounce, one–quarter ounce and one–tenth ounce coins – and the four–coin set, are selling at a rapid pace and are expected to sell out in the near future.
The maximum mintage of 8,000 individual one–ounce American Eagle Gold Proof Coins sold out on July 6, 2003, which was only seven weeks after they went on sale, making the one–ounce American Eagle Gold Proof Coin now available only as part of the remaining American Eagle Gold Proof Four–Coin Set.
