Nancy Reagan First Spouse Gold Coins Available on July 1

WASHINGTON – The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for Nancy Reagan First Spouse Gold Coins (product codes 16SE and 16SF) starting on July 1 at noon Eastern Time (ET).

The obverse (heads) features a portrait of Mrs. Reagan with the inscriptions “NANCY REAGAN,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “LIBERTY,” “2016,” “40th,” and “1981-1989.”  The obverse was designed by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) Designer Benjamin Sowards and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Joseph Menna.

The reverse (tails) features Mrs. Reagan with her arms around two children during her anti-drug campaign to “just say no.”  Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “$10,” “1/2 OZ.,” and “.9999 FINE GOLD.”  The reverse was designed by AIP Designer Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Don Everhart.

Pricing for the 2016 First Spouse Series Gold Coins is in accordance with the United States Mint pricing schedule for gold and platinum coins, which are priced according to the range in which they appear on the United States Mint Gold and Platinum Coin Pricing Grid at http://catalog.usmint.gov/coins/gold-coins/.

Mintage for the Nancy Reagan First Spouse Gold Coin is limited to 15,000 units across both proof and uncirculated product options.  The ratio of proof coins to uncirculated coins produced will be based on customer demand.  Orders are limited to one coin per household.
