Human Capital Directorate
Ernest Cameron began his second tenure with the Mint in October 2018. Previously, Ernest served as Deputy Associate Director for Human Capital from April, 2017 to December, 2017. He has more than 20 years of federal government human resources experience, including four years as a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES).
Ernest has served as a Senior Human Resources Specialist, Chief of Labor Relations, Employee Relations Specialist, Chief of Staffing and Recruitment, and Policy Advisor for the U.S. Patent and Trade Office, Senior Human Resources Specialist for the Office of the Ombudsman within the Transportation Security Administration, Senior Human Resources and Policy Specialist for the Department of Labor (Bureau of Labor Statistics), Director of Human Resources for the Surface Transportation Board, Director of Administration for the Office of Government Ethics, Chief of Human Resources Policy and Program Development for the U.S. Department of State. Ernest served in an SES capacity as Director of Financial and Administrative Management for the Merit Systems Protection Board, and Director of Administrative Management for the Department of Labor (Mine, Safety, and Health Administration). He retired from federal government service as a Senior Executive in 2013.
Additionally, Ernest has served as a Senior Human Resources Consultant for the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Department of Education. He also served as the Director of Administration for the Prince Georges County (MD) Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement.
Ernest retired from the United States Air Force having served in administration, the Judge Advocate General Department as a Paralegal, Law Office Manager, Circuit Court Administrator, Chief Court Administrator, First Sergeant for the Office of Special Investigations, and as the Chief of Training and Manpower for the Judge Advocate Generals Department.
Ernest is a graduate of the Community College of the Air Force and the University of Maryland. He and his wife reside in Owings, MD.
