Background
The National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum Clad Half Dollar Coin is one of a three-coin series. The National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum honors the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers in the United States.
Recipient Organization: National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, Inc.
Surcharges in the amount of $35 for each $5 gold coin sold, $10 for each silver dollar sold, and $5 for each half dollar sold are authorized to be paid to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, Inc., for educational and outreach programs and exhibits.Commemorative Coin Surcharges

Characteristics
The obverse (heads) depicts a sheriff’s star, representing the community served by law enforcement officers and the important role they play.
The reverse (tails) depicts an eye in a magnifying glass looking at a fingerprint, portraying the human side of justice, a reminder that law enforcement is not only officers on the street but many others behind the scenes. It also features the emblem of the National Law Enforcement Museum.
